The Bountiful RedHawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-7 victory over Cedar Valley. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Bountiful was led to victory by Emerson Geilman and Siaki Fekitoa. Geilman threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Fekitoa rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Fekitoa was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Faletau Satuala, who picked up 69 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Cedar Valley still got an impressive performance from Chevas Gregory, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Gregory is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Bountiful is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Cedar Valley, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Bountiful will head out on the road to face off against Granger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Granger will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Cedar Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
