Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Jefferson Democrats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against South Medford on Friday, falling 34-0. The low total for Jefferson limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Ryder Scheid, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown. Scheid really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for South Medford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Medford will face off against North Salem at TBD on Friday. North Salem is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
