Baseball Recap: Dominican Has No Trouble Against Pulaski

Dominican never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Pulaski on Monday. They blew past the Rams 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Joseph Cabral made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tyler Feldbruegge and Michael Perez-Cruz did most of the damage at the plate: Feldbruegge went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Perez-Cruz went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Perez-Cruz is becoming a predictor of Dominican's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Xavier Parlier was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Dominican always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory snapped Dominican's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-10 record. As for Pulaski, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dominican will square off against St. Catherine's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Angels at the right time seeing as the Angels are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pulaski, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Milwaukee Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th.
