After a string of four wins, the Berlin Redcoats's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Middletown 44-38. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Berlin of the 55-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Middletown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shalyn Smith, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Smith hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Porch, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Middletown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Berlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Middletown also has no future games currently scheduled.
