1A District 2 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Cedar Creek moved up to 101 from 130 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 2. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of besting St. Frederick 50-14.
Ouachita Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Loyola College Prep, 55-19. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Ouachita Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Quin Graves threw for 84 and two touchdowns and Jordan Washam had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Braden Bristo chipped in 94 yards. Bristo helped Ouachita Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
Ouachita Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Graves has thrown for 807 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Colby Webb has 26 catches for 421 yards. Ahkeem Henderson leads the league in rushing with 383 yards.
A big matchup in 1A District 2 this week will be when Arcadia takes on Steven Fitzhugh's team. The Hornets are currently in fifth, while the Eagles are in first.
