Meanwhile, Pojoaque Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 40-34 to Hope Christian.
Grants has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Pojoaque Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Grants beat Pojoaque Valley 46-36 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grants since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
