It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Veritas Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Atlantic Christian with a 45-41 victory. The victory was nothing new for Veritas Christian Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.
Veritas Christian Academy was led to victory by Caitlin O'Malley and Amya Cuddon. O'Malley dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Cuddon scored 13 points along with five steals. O'Malley hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Zoey Torppey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Veritas Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. As for Atlantic Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-1.
Veritas Christian Academy is on the road again on Monday and plays Lacordaire Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 12th. Veritas Christian Academy is facing Lacordaire Academy at the right time seeing as Lacordaire Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Atlantic Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against King's Christian at 5:45 p.m. Atlantic Christian's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so King's Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
