The Loudon Redskins will take on the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Loudon is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Powell, sneaking past 3-2.
Logan Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Ridings, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Lakeway Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Union County. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Chase Gockenbach was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kyler Worsham was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Davis Peralta-Lawson, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI.
Lakeway Christian Academy's record now sits at 8-0. As for Loudon, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
