Basketball Recap: Sullivan Comes Up Short

Sullivan lost to Northview on December 5th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Golden Arrows fell 64-55 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Golden Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Knights are ranked 28th).

Despite the loss, Sullivan still got an impressive performance from Cooper Bock, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 16 points and eight boards. The game was Bock's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Ridgway, who shot 40% from the field on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Leading Northview to victory were Brayden Goff and Quinn Lewis. Goff almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists, while Lewis went 9-for-12 en route to 20 points and five boards. Lewis is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trayven Buis, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points and five rebounds.

Sullivan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Northview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Sullivan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-45 win against West Vigo on the 29th. As for Northview, they have also already played their next game, a 58-54 loss against Parke Heritage on the 29th.
