Meanwhile, Burbank can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Edison as Burbank made off with a 53-27 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Burbank has posted since December 2, 2023.
Burbank's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia De la cruz, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 26 rebounds. De la cruz has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Carter, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 17 of their last 18 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season. As for Burbank, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.
Jefferson was dealt a bruising 63-14 defeat at the hands of Burbank in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Burbank's Zara'nique Nealy, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals.
