Meanwhile, Walden Grove came up short against Canyon del Oro on Friday and fell 21-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Walden Grove in their matchups with Canyon del Oro: they've now lost five in a row.
The losses dropped Northwest Christian to 8-2 and Walden Grove to 6-4.
Northwest Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Walden Grove in their previous matchup back in August, winning 38-26. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Walden Grove's Smith, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns.
