Nevada Union is 8-2 against Placer since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Miners are taking a road trip to square off against the Hillmen at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Nevada Union put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They came out on top against Del Campo by a score of 13-10. The win was some much needed relief for the Miners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jessica Rivenes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Nevada Union got a massive performance out of Cheyanne Painter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Painter has posted since back in May of 2024. Lauren Riebe also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Nevada Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Placer hadn't done well against Roseville recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hillmen walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Hillmen sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Like Nevada Union, Placer also got a great game from a two-way player: Sydney Nitta. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Nitta was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her four at bats.
In other batting news, Paige Denniston and Livia WileyPearson did most of the damage at the plate: Denniston went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while WileyPearson went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Myah Denny was another key player, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Placer's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs. As for Nevada Union, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-13-1.
Nevada Union might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Placer in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
