Banff has struggled against Humble Christian recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Banff still got an impressive performance from Vinnie Chu, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Chu is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Cook, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Humble Christian found their leader in underclassman Xander Stevenson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and nine assists. Stevenson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Kyron Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Banff has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Humble Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.
Banff will look to defend their home court on Friday against The Connection School of Houston at 5:30 p.m. Banff is coming into the match with seven straight losses at home, meaning The Connection School of Houston will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Humble Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Humble Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
