Ore City has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Overton Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ore City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Back in November, Ore City had to suffer through a rough 41-13 loss at the hands of Maud.
Meanwhile, Overton didn't have too much trouble with New Summerfield at home on Tuesday as they won 50-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Overton.
Kayla Nobles was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashby Croswell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Ore City's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.1 points per game. As for Overton, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Everything went Ore City's way against Overton in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 as Ore City made off with a 58-34 win. Does Ore City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Overton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
