Baseball Recap: Bunnell Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Bunnell had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 9-4 to make it four. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Notre Dame Prep Lancers. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Lancers on their field since April 23, 2021.

As for Notre Dame Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-14. Lancers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Bunnell since on Thursday.

For Notre Dame Prep's part, Ezequias Reyes put in work no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Reyes gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last three contests. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jake Lippert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Notre Dame Prep's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 9-13 when he doesn't). Justin Ramos was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
