The Burncoat Patriots pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fitchburg. Burncoat has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Burncoat saw an underclassman step up: Jaiden Johnston scored 23 points. Cheyton Marshall was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Burncoat has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Fitchburg, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burncoat will play host again and welcome St. Paul, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fitchburg, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westborough at 7:00 p.m.
