Triad has gone 9-1 against Mascoutah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Triad 2.8, Mascoutah 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Triad's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They skirted past Civic Memorial 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 20th.
Meanwhile, Mascoutah had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Bulldogs. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 9, 2023.
Jayce McLaurin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Kinze Reese and Avery Boehm did most of the damage at the plate: Reese went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Boehm went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Boehm is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mikaela Fallon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mascoutah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Triad's win bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Mascoutah, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Triad hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Mascoutah struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Triad couldn't quite finish off Mascoutah when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 5-3. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
