The Cedarcrest Red Wolves lost against the Shorecrest Scots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cedarcrest lost to Shorecrest at home by a decisive 60-42 margin. Cedarcrest has not had much luck with Shorecrest recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Cedarcrest saw an underclassman step up: Laine Mckenzie dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Mckenzie is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kiki Anderson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cedarcrest has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Shorecrest, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
Cedarcrest will challenge Snohomish at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Snohomish will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Shorecrest, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cascade at 7:15 p.m. Cascade is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
