The Sidney Red Raiders entered their tilt with the Pierce Bluejays with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Sidney came out on top against Pierce by a score of 41-34 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Isak Doty, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Riddle, who picked up 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sidney's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.4 points per game. As for Pierce, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Sidney will head out on the road to face off against Wahoo at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Wahoo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Sidney likes a good challenge. Pierce does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
