The Cuthbertson Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 41-31 to Providence. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cuthbertson has scored all season.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Mundy, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Mundy posted two or more blocks. Christian Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lindsey Nolan was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds for Providence. Nolan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Delanie Hill, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Cuthbertson has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Providence, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Cuthbertson will head out on the road to challenge Weddington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Weddington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for Providence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Mecklenburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
