Bethlehem is 9-1 against Campbellsville since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees are taking a road trip to take on the Campbellsville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Bethlehem will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
If Bethlehem beats Campbellsville with 15 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Bethlehem didn't even let Fort Knox on the board on Tuesday, marking Bethlehem's second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles/Banshees have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Taylor Goshen and Alexis Hume were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Goshen pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hume tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Goshen went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Hume went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That hit marked the first that Goshen got this season.
In other batting news, Bethlehem got a massive performance out of Malorie Thiel, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Thiel also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Gabby Luckett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Campbellsville posted their closest win since April 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Russell County 11-9.
Aubreigh Knifley was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caselynn Brown, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Campbellsville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bethlehem, their record is now 4-0.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bethlehem has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .546. However, it's not like Campbellsville struggles in that department as they've averaged .483. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bethlehem took their victory against Campbellsville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-2. Will Bethlehem repeat their success, or does Campbellsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
