Basketball Recap: Elijah Sherrill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Langtree Charter Academy

There's no place like home for Highland Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over the Langtree Charter Academy Lions on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rams have posted since November 18, 2024.

Highland Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Sherrill led the charge by going 5 for 10 on his way to 23 points. The contest was Sherrill's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleman Schafer, who posted 14 points.

Highland Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Highland Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland Tech won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Pine Lake Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
