Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dock Mennonite). They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Collegium Charter Cougar on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Aubrey Gahman was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Addison Landis was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Taelyn Landis, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Dock Mennonite hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Dock Mennonite's record is now 3-1. As for Collegium Charter, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
