Bangor is 0-3 against Aquinas since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bangor Cardinals on the road again and play against the Aquinas Blugolds at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. Bangor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully Aquinas likes a good challenge.
Bangor stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by New Lisbon on the road to the tune of 59-30. Given Bangor's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while New Lisbon is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Aquinas were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-15 loss at the hands of Niagara. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Aquinas has suffered yet this season.
Bangor pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Bangor suffered a grim 64-39 defeat to Aquinas in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Thankfully for Bangor, Macy Donarski (who scored 17 points along with nine assists and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
