The Knoxville A Ambassadors were the 64-46 winner over Berean Christian when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Knoxville A lost to Berean Christian on the road by a decisive 70-56 margin on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Berean Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deonte Smith led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Smith's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Connor Copeland, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Knoxville A's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Berean Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Maryville Christian the next time they take the court. Knoxville A will head out to face Maryville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Berean Christian will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
