Lamar County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Watts led the charge by scoring 18 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Watts scored 15 or more points. Ella Bleu Leverett was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Temple gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They put the hurt on Haralson County with a sharp 64-38 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Temple has posted since December 9, 2023.
Lamar County's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Temple, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
