The Lee Volunteers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Marshall and snuck past 47-44. For Lee, this counts as revenge for the 63-61 loss Marshall walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Lee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rosanelly Pastrano out in front who scored 14 points. The match was Pastrano's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Ramirez, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Lee's victory bumped their record up to 14-9-1. As for Marshall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Madison the next time they take the court. Marshall will host Madison at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lee will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th.
