Jasper extended their losing streak  to five  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 18-14 in the process. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calera Eagles. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in March of 2019.
  America Montgomery made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Lexi Kilgore, who  went 3-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
As for Calera, they pushed their record up to 8-18 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.8 runs over those games.
 On Calera's side,  Isabelle Overton was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jasper will square off against Thompson at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Calera, they will take on Pelham at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
