Burges is 9-1 against Jefferson since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jefferson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Silver Foxes, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Yazmeen De La Paz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jefferson let Melanie Hennigan and Elizabella Quinonez run wild. Hennigan got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Quinonez went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Quinonez has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Helen Osornio, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. They are undefeated (16-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burges hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Burges' way against Jefferson in their previous matchup back in March, as Burges made off with a 13-1 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Silver Foxes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
