Baseball Recap: Mckeel Academy Wins Going Away Against Lake Placid

While McKeel Academy put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lake Placid. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Dragons. The Wildcats have beaten the Dragons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.

The result came thanks to Aedan Tompkins's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Jorge Cordova was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

McKeel Academy's record is now 12-6. As for Lake Placid, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, McKeel Academy will face off against IMG Academy Gold at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Placid, they will head out on the road to face off against Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
