Warde never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers 38-0. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hilltoppers: they've now won eight in a row.

James Dellavolpe went supernova, throwing for 149 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 116 yards and one TD on only five carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 74 yards. Andrew Shelov was Dellavolpe's top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Warde didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Bridgeport Central to a completion percentage of just 26.3%. The Mustangs weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Warde's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jamauri Brown, Ryan Tetro, and Jayden Ramirez Leb, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Warde's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bridgeport Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Warde will venture away from home to challenge Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Bridgeport Central, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Trumbull at 11:00 a.m.
