The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) on Saturday, totaling 18 points as the Broncos beat Redlands East Valley (Redlands, Calif.) 59-14.
After taking the lead on a
Nick Stevens touchdown pass to
Su'a Cravens in the first quarter, the Broncos led 38-0 at the half.
Vista Murrieta expanded its lead to 59 points entering the fourth quarter. VM scored three times in the third, including once on a
Kishawn Holmes touchdown run.
The Murrieta school's most effective player was Stevens. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
The Wildcats' Alonzo Anderson was the standout player for his team. The junior running back ran for one touchdown.
With the win the Broncos extended their winning streak to three games.
Vista Murrieta (3-0) goes up against Cathedral Catholic in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Redlands East Valley (1-2) locks horns with Rancho Christian also in a non-conference game.
