The Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 43-29 fall against Bristol Bay. Sand Point was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Angels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Sand Point's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rowdy Tripp, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds, and Tyler Gundersen who scored nine points along with four steals. Gundersen is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Sand Point struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
