Somerset (Mass.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 25 in Massachusetts, but was stunned by
Bishop Feehan (Attleboro, Mass.), 24-7. Bishop Feehan was ranked at No. 65 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Massachusetts coming into the week.
The Raiders pulled ahead on a rushing touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 7-6. The Shamrocks scored the winning points with a touchdown run by
Nicholas Romero that came in the third quarter.
The loss snapped Somerset's 9-game winning streak.
Romero stood out for Bishop Feehan in the win. He threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
SHS's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run in the second quarter.
BF went into the matchup giving up only 7.3 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Attleboro school came away with a 41-7 victory.
The loss comes after Somerset defeated Coyle-Cassidy 42-13 last week.
Somerset (9-1) goes up against Case in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Bishop Feehan (7-2) locks horns with Bishop Stang in a Eastern game.
