If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Monroe. On Friday they take on Oakland at 7:00 PM. Monroe strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 32 points per game.
Everything went Monroe's way against Central Linn last Friday as they made off with a 42-21 victory. The success made it back-to-back wins for Monroe.
Meanwhile, Oakland have had to suffer through a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Creswell with a 18-12 win.
Their wins bumped Oakland to 1-5 and Monroe to 5-1. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Oakland and Monroe clash.
