The Hackensack Comets fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Ramapo Raiders on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), Hackensack still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Peyton Seals, who scored 30 points for Ramapo. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seals has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Cervino, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Hackensack has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Ramapo, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-7.
Hackensack will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ramapo, they will square off against Bergen Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ramapo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Bergen Catholic likes a good challenge.
