The New Hanover Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to South Brunswick for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-33 victory at home. New Hanover's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
New Hanover had a senior duo take command as Tamorie Wilson scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Iyana Rogers scored eight points along with seven assists and three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Londyn Doughty, who scored 11 points.
New Hanover pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for South Brunswick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hanover will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Myers Park at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Myers Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. South Brunswick will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
