The Hancock County Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Muhlenberg County Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Saturday, Hancock County got the win against Holy Cross by a conclusive 15-3.

Ryleigh French made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrey Carnes, who went 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. M Coleman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Hancock County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, Muhlenberg County entered their tilt with McLean County on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 16-0 shutout. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.
Muhlenberg County got a big performance out of Ella Watkins, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Joshlynn Noe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hancock County's record now sits at 14-8. As for Muhlenberg County, their record is now an identical 14-8.
