There's no place like home for The Hiram Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They really took it to Cass for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-20 win at home. The result was nothing new for Hiram, who have now won five matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Kendarious Brown was a one-man wrecking crew for Hiram as he rushed for 135 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Brown's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Da'Shaun Williams, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Hiram, racking up 14 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Oliver Castaneda: he added nine points with three field goals, and another five kicking extra points.
Hiram's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Cass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Hiram will head out on the road to face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Hiram is ranked 56th). As for Cass, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
