Two dominant guards in Michael Timpano and Tahj Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Lyme Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Windham Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, East Lyme had to suffer through a rough 76-43 loss at the hands of the Saints. East Lyme was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.
Meanwhile, Windham's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-55 walloping at the hands of New London. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Windham had strong showings from Jones, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Malcolm Hunter, who scored 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played.
East Lyme has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Windham, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
East Lyme came up short against the Whippets in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 58-48. Can East Lyme avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
