Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They looks to establish their home field advantage on Thursday as they take on Westwood at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close game.
If Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering were riding high off their 40-0 takedown of Memphis Nighthawks three weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 12-16 to Hillcrest two weeks ago. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering got a solid performance out of senior Sidney Hall, who rushed for 101 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Westwood were close but not close enough as they fell 12-14 to Washington.
Given their recent losses, both teams have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. Westwood's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering defensive front that amassed 7 sacks against Hillcrest, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
