With a playoff game on the line, the Port Neches-Groves Indians rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions and snuck past 30-27. Port Neches-Groves is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Among those leading the charge was Shea Adams, who rushed for 26 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 70 receiving yards.
Port Neches-Groves' win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Lake Creek, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 12-1.
Port Neches-Groves will face off against Huntsville at TBD on Friday. Huntsville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Lake Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
