It was a proper cat-fight when Emerald Ridge took on Bonney Lake on Tuesday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Panthers. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Alanna Wirtala made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Puttler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Abygale Redwine, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Emerald Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Emerald Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bonney Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Emerald Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Rogers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bonney Lake, they are taking a road trip to take on Graham-Kapowsin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
