The Bethel Jaguars lost against the Albany Cougars back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Bethel fell to Albany 58-53. That's two games in a row now that Bethel has lost by exactly five points.
Bethel's loss came despite strong showings from D. Brown and H. Howard. Brown scored 20 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds, while Howard scored 23 points. Howard scored a full 43.4% of Bethel's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of D. Stricklen, who scored 10 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Bethel and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Albany, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel will challenge Hercules at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hercules has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Albany's road trip will continue as they head out to face Swett at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Swett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1011th, while Albany is ranked 429th).
