For the first time this season, St. Stanislaus will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will take on the Perry Central Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. St. Stanislaus' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Perry Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While St. Stanislaus' victory against Heritage Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. St. Stanislaus skirted past Heritage Academy 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rock-a-Chaws have posted since April 12, 2024.

Warren Gunter was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Stephen Hutchison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perry Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against East Marion on Saturday as Perry Central made off with a 14-4 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Austin Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Cayson Backstrom was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Perry Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.
St. Stanislaus pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Perry Central, their record now sits at 3-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Stanislaus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perry Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Stanislaus couldn't quite finish off Perry Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can St. Stanislaus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
