After a string of four wins, the FAITH HomeSchool Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Baptist. While losing is never fun, FAITH HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Faith Baptist is ranked 138th).
It was another big night for Amy Ahrens, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds for Faith Baptist. Ahrens is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Alyssa Ahrens was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
FAITH HomeSchool now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Faith Baptist, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. FAITH HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Bethany Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. FAITH HomeSchool has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Faith Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against CHASE at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Faith Baptist: 29.2, CHASE: 28.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
