Triangle Lake is 8-2 against McKenzie since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Triangle Lake Lakers will look to defend their home court against the McKenzie Eagles at 1:30 p.m. Triangle Lake will be strutting in after a victory while McKenzie will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Triangle Lake beat Crow/City First Christian Academy 53-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Triangle Lake.
Meanwhile, McKenzie's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alsea. McKenzie has struggled against Alsea recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Rhys Hamlow, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and eight steals. Allen Acevedo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Triangle Lake's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for McKenzie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season.
