Football Recap: Rocky River Skates Past Westlake with Ease

Rocky River entered their tilt with Westlake on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Demons 43-13. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Demons are ranked 447th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rocky River's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Steven McHenry and Jackson Greear, who racked up all four sacks between them.

Rocky River's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Westlake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky River will welcome Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Bucks have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home field on the 17th against Normandy at 7:00 p.m. The Demons will be up against the Invaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
