The Paulding Panthers will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hicksville Aces at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Paulding is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.5  runs per game this season.
 It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Paulding ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Monday. They won by a  run and slipped past Montpelier  5-4. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Paulding.
  Casey Agler made a splash no matter where he played. He  tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   nine  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Agler was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Agler wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kane Jones, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Hicksville couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took  a  9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crestview two weeks ago.
 Paulding's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hicksville, they dropped their record down to 0-1 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Paulding was able to grind out a solid  win over Hicksville when the teams last played  back in April of 2023, winning  6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paulding since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
