The biggest upset of the week belonged to Preston, who took down 76th ranked East Fairmont, 20-19.
Lewis County extended the longest winning streak in Big Ten this week by beating Oak Hill, 37-19. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Minutemen.
Elkins's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Silas Gibson threw for 55 and one touchdown and Clayton Collett had 103 yards receiving. On the ground L. J. Lawrence chipped in 122 yards. Sean Cain helped Elkins' passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Ivy Bartlett of Grafton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 429. He has also thrown three touchdowns. On the ground, the Tigers' Lawrence has rushed for 1359 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Shaquille Washington. The Fairmont star has seven catches for 276 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Buckhannon-Upshur takes on Byrd. The Buccaneers are currently in 12th, while the Eagles are in first.
Liberty was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to seventh in Big Ten. The Mountaineers vanquished the Bearcats 29-14 earlier in the week.
